The T-6 group (Theoretical Biology and Biophysics) in the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking a recent PhD graduate with experience in immunology and structural biology to join our team as a postdoctoral researcher. The selected candidate will help our group investigate how T cells stimulate antibody production by statistical analyses of published data, specifically investigating structural determinants of successful antibody responses. It is expected that findings will be shared with the scientific community through publications and attendance at conferences. The postdoctoral researcher will also have opportunities to spend a smaller percentage of their time working on other projects within LANL's T-6 group, dependent upon their interests. This position does not involve laboratory research.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of human immunology, particularly T and B cell responses
- Experience with structural modeling software
- First author publications demonstrating knowledge of the above
- Experience running existing code on large datasets
- Interest in working with individuals with diverse scientific backgrounds
Education: PhD in molecular biology, immunology, computational biology, or closely related fields
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience performing immunological assays for measuring antibody or T cell activity
- Advanced statistical knowledge
- Ability to write custom code
- Familiarity with vaccine development challenges, particularly for HIV
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Salary:
