What You Will Do eXperience IT (XIT) Division is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Digital Print and Scanning Specialist 1 for the XIT Technical Services and Solutions (XIT-TSS) group. The Media Services Team within XIT-TSS is responsible for performing photography and video production work around the Laboratory as well as the operation of several auditoriums and printing services. As part of the Media Services Team, the Digital Print and Scanning Specialist 1 will perform printing operations in the Laboratory’s Print Shop.
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Production of a variety of print products such as posters, booklets, pamphlets, business cards, drawings, paystubs, tax forms, and photographs.
Basic maintenance on printing machines.
Interface with the Government Publishing Office.
Track and report print job status.
Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with customers, technical staff, and Laboratory management.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Demonstrated excellent customer service.
Experience working in a printing facility or duplication center.
Experience using various equipment such as plotters, scanners, and photo printers.
Experience multitasking in a high-output environment.
Knowledge of printing technologies for final product output to determined medium.
Developing knowledge of binding, foam core mounting, cutting, and laminating.
Developing knowledge of paper media and various specialty printing vendor capabilities (e.g., mugs, pens, lanyards, etc.).
Skilled in verbal and written communications and in negotiating with customers and vendors.
Demonstrated ability and desire to become knowledgeable with new printing technology, styles and standards, as the multimedia industry and Laboratory’s needs change.
Active DOE Q clearance.
Experience or training in Information Technology.
Experience working with the Government Publishing Office.
Experience using a call tracking or customer request system.
Developing skillset with graphic design software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
Knowledge of graphic design.
Knowledge of the Laboratory’s safety and security policies, practices, and procedures.
Developing knowledge of the Laboratory's records management policies, practices, and procedures pertaining to media creation.
Technical or professional certifications related to multimedia or digital arts.
Education: Position typically requires a minimum of two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
