Los Alamos National Laboratory Graduate Student Research Assistant in Systems Biology in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
The successful candidate will join a multi-institutional cancer-relevant systems biology project team supported by the National Institutes of Health. You will be affiliated with the Theoretical Biology & Biophysics Group, which is part of the Laboratory’s Theoretical Division. In the project, you will be responsible for helping to develop mathematical models that are useful for analyzing how combinations of protein kinase inhibitors affect activation of oncogenic ERK signaling. The models of interest will incorporate structural constraints, which will be inferred from available 3D structures. Models will be parameterized for consistency with experimental data generated by experimental team members. There may be an opportunity to analyze data from a clinical trial. We are trying to find novel strategies for using kinase inhibitors to kill cancer cells harboring driver mutations in RAS and RAF genes.
