What You Will Do
The Network Infrastructure Engineering Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking Post Master and Graduate (Masters or PhD level) students seeking challenging paid internships for the current academic year and summer. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.2/4.0 for consideration, and enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (graduate level). What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Programming skills (C++, Java, Perl)
Linux and Windows systems administration
Computer networking (routing, switching, wireless)
Computer access control and authentication
Enterprise collaboration systems administration (email, calendaring, IM)
Telecommunications (VoIP, video, radio)
Customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Currently pursuing a MS/PhD (or recent MS degree) in a Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering major while maintaining a minimum of a 3.2 GPA. Selected candidates will be provided with a mentor for their appointment and an opportunity to present their projects and progress to colleagues.
Clearance: Q(Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

The Network and Infrastructure Engineering (NIE) Division provides the technical communication and workplace infrastructure and services for the “desktop to teraflops” cyber workplace for the Laboratory.
