What You Will Do
The Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory is currently seeking highly motivated applicants for a postdoctoral position in quantum computing. A main goal is to investigate methods for simulating physical systems on quantum computers. The successful candidate will work on a project that considers various models of computation. The postdoc will be mentored by a Los Alamos National Laboratory scientist who is an expert in the field and will also be encouraged to collaborate with scientists in the Computer, Computational, and Statistical Sciences Division (CCS).
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Research experience in quantum computing supported by high-profile publications.
Demonstrated research ability, as evidenced by publications, reports, presentations, awards, etc.
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
Demonstrated expertise with numerical methods for simulating quantum systems.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
Ability to adapt to new requirements for projects and be flexible enough to learn new areas of research as needed.
Ability to work effectively as a part of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment and interact with people with a variety of expertise.
- A PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related fields, completed within the last five years or soon to be completed.
