Los Alamos National Laboratory Wildfire Aerosol Microbiology Post Bachelor Student in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
The Bioscience Division is looking for strong post-baccalaureate candidates in the areas of environmental microbiology and molecular biology. The selected candidate will work with a team of scientists to understand the microbial composition, diversity, and activity of organisms in wildlife aerosols (i.e., bioaerosols).
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
General background in biology, microbiology, and molecular biology
Familiarity with good laboratory practices and biological experiment design
Demonstrated strong attention to detail
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative team environment
Must submit a cover letter addressing how you meet each of the minimum requirements and any of the desired skills, if applicable
GPA of 3.5 or higher
A bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, microbiology, chemistry, or related technical field obtained at the time of hire or within the past 3 years, but have not yet been accepted and enrolled in a graduate program.
Demonstrated experience with molecular biology techniques
Experience with flow cytometry
Experience preparing regents for biochemistry/microbiology experiments
Experience with sterile techniques
Experience with DNA extraction and PCR
Experience with DNA sequence data

Location: This position will be located in Los Alamos, NM.
