The Integrated Weapons Experiments Division (J-DO) is seeking an energetic, customer-focused individual for the position of DARHT Capability Expansion Project/Program Specialist (Project/Program Specialist 2). The position will serve as an integral member of the DARHT Capability Expansion (DCX) Office.
The role of the DARHT Capability Expansion Project/Program Specialist is to improve project productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through project planning efforts, coordinated project documentation, and cross-organizational collaboration. This role will report to the DCX Project-Program Director and support broader efforts to implement improvements to the DARHT complex as identified in the DCX Strategy. These improvements are prioritized to: (1) extend DARHT's reliability and resilience, (2) increase the quality and quantity of DARHT data, and (3) enable hydrodynamic measurements in complex environments.
The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordination of several DCX project activities for which they are assigned under limited direction. Activities could include leading project implementation scoping, tracking project cost & schedule, developing project & contract documentation, synchronizing critical procurement efforts, and coordinating across several LANL organizations to deliver improvements across several facilities in the DARHT complex.

Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 5 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience developing partnerships across LANL support organizations to execute facility improvement projects - examples of partner organizations include Engineering Services (ES), Weapon Facility Operations (WFO), Construction Management (CM), and Acquisition Services Management (ASM).
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills as an Engineer, Project Scheduler, or Project Management professional.
- Experience developing project documentation - examples could include requirements documents, statements of work, procurement contracts, cost estimates, project implementation plans, job aids, and integrated work documents.
- Active DOE Q-Clearance.
- Planner-Scheduler or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance, and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
