The Science Resource Office (SRO) is looking for an energetic and customer-focused professional to help with the planning, setup and delivery of learning events for the R&D Project Resource Office, and to assist with various other functions that SRO performs. As the post-bachelor's intern, you will be a key member of a small team whose goal is to develop and maintain a program of knowledge resources, services and tools that help Lab researchers efficiently and effectively manage their R&D projects and allow them to dedicate more of their energy on their R&D work. The position requires flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to multitask and complete tasks under pressure.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Proven track record in event management, including planning, logistics coordination, successful delivery of the event and management of participant registrations.
- Demonstrated experience providing professional expertise for a busy environment, dealing with multiple customers and tasks. Ability to multitask and prioritize when needed.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written, demonstrating the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Excellent hands-on knowledge and experience with standard business applications, including MS Excel, MS Word, Powerpoint, Outlook Mail and Calendar, and web conferencing applications.
- Willingness to learn new procedures and look for opportunities for process improvement.
- Proven ability to produce quality work by applying attention to detail, managing time and seeing tasks to completion.
- Proven ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience following established procedures and practices.
- Demonstrated willingness to accept flexibility in work assignments and a record of dependability and reliability as proven through good attendance and quality work.
Education/Experience:
Post-Bachelor's
- Must have earned a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (or international equivalent) within the last 3 years in an appropriate field,
- Must have graduated with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
Desired Qualifications:
- An understanding of research projects and researchers' project needs
- Knowledge of project management principles
- Experience analyzing data and providing complete, accurate, relevant summaries of the data, especially survey data
- Experience designing and maintaining webpages
- Experience supporting users of computer applications

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Onsite: This position is in Los Alamos, NM. Reporting onsite will be regularly required. Some interns may work a 9/80 schedule at the discretion of management and in accordance with the Student Programs Office guidebook.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
