What You Need

  • Education/Experience: Position requires 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Material Management:
    • Demonstrated ability to manage materials in accordance with applicable quality assurance standards and industry best practices.
    • Knowledge of production and inventory control principles, including cycle counting, physical inventory management, and resource planning practices.
    • Awareness of supply chain management and resource integration processes, with willingness to learn DOE/NNSA and industry regulatory requirements.
  • Business Systems:
    • Proficiency with inventory control and material tracking systems.
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and other relevant software.
    • Experience using warehouse management systems or production/material tracking tools to monitor and resolve material issues.
  • Communication and Customer Service:
    • Demonstrated excellence in customer service, with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and shop floor personnel.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey findings, provide recommendations, and proactively support organizational objectives.
    • Ability to foster a respectful and inclusive work environment free from discrimination and harassment.
  • Organizational Skills:
    • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
    • Ability to organize storage areas, workflows, and material staging to support efficient operations.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Maintains safety and security compliance as a primary responsibility.
    • Completes required safety and security training and integrates safety into all tasks, including taking appropriate action to stop work if conditions are unsafe or compromise security.
    • Adheres to warehouse, storage, and handling procedures, as well as applicable chemical and material handling requirements.
  • C-Shift Schedule:
    • Ability to work a shift schedule that could include night or weekend work depending on business needs.
    • Ability to Initiate and manage shift hand off communication; Gather required information when coming on shift and report progress and ongoing action items when leaving.


Qualifications We Desire:

  • Classified Matter Protection Custodian.
  • Experience in chemical or hazardous materials management.
  • Experience managing M&TE via Indysoft.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with experience managing materials in a nuclear environment and ensuring item traceability.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and proper material storage and handling practices.
  • An active DOE Q-level clearance.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Work Schedule: This position may/will require 24/7 coverage, which could/will involve working a shift/weekend schedule. Employees may be eligible for the shift differential pay when assigned by their manager. Shift/weekend assignments are at the discretion of the manager.

Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2: Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
