This position will be filled at the Project Controls 1/Project Controls 2, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
Project Controls 1 ($64,700.00 - $101,400.00)
This position provides project controls support and performs schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities, as directed. Performs cost estimating, analysis, and cost control activities, as directed. Support cost engineering and/or planning and scheduling activities.
Project Controls 2 (78,700.00 - $125,100.00)
Performs cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed. Performs schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities, as directed. Supervises cost engineering and/or planning and scheduling activities, when delegated.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks under strict deadlines and changing priorities.
- Demonstrated successful experience working on multiple projects with frequent interruptions, varying priorities and deadlines while maintaining excellent quality in daily work.
- Excellent capabilities with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to obtain a Q clearance
Additional Job Requirements for Project Controls 2:
- Two years of experience working in a large organizations, programs, or projects with significant fiscal and programmatic scope.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with all levels of management and staff.
- Successful track record in following technical direction and goals, implementing effective business practices and systems, analyzing budgets and finances, and interacting with customers and stakeholders.
Education/Project Controls 1: Position requires an Associates Degree and 2 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Education/Project Controls 2: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge in using schedule software tools, including customarily acquired over time through education, or practical experience.
- Knowledge in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, schedule control, schedule analysis, cost estimating, cost control, financial reporting systems, budgets analysis, and cost variance analysis, customarily acquired over time through education, or practical experience.
- Excellent communication skills including interpersonal, verbal and written, demonstrating the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. USA. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
