As a project leader in the R&D Project Resource Office, you will be a key member of a small team whose goal is to develop and maintain a program of knowledge resources, services and tools that help Lab researchers efficiently and effectively manage their R&D projects, allowing them to dedicate more of their energy on their R&D work. More specifically, you will identify and prioritize researcher's needs with respect to project knowledge and
support; develop and help select program initiatives to pursue; and lead the cross-organizational project team to successfully obtain funding, then design and deliver the promised knowledge resources, services or tools.

What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Project Management
Demonstrated experience leading multiple small to mid-size projects with team members that often report to other organizations. This demonstrated experience must include working with stakeholders and team members to develop and get buy-in to the project goals, and develop the project plan. Demonstrated experience motivating a team to work together to achieve the project goals; facilitating communications between the team members to help them coordinate their work. Demonstrated experience monitoring and controlling the project to ensure that the project will be delivered on schedule and at budget. Demonstrated experience proactively identifying and handling issues and reporting to and consulting with key stakeholders regularly.
Event Coordination and Assistance
Demonstrated experience planning and executing events that includes scheduling resources;; producing event materials.; and assisting participants.
Software Application Support
Demonstrated experience learning different applications (e.g., project management software) and then sharing your expertise by helping others use the application.
Data Analysis
Demonstrated ability to effectively gather, compile, and interpret data derived from multiple sources to produce reliable metrics, trends, and forecasts.
Problem Solving
Advanced and demonstrated experience in identifying, researching and analyzing the source of problems and finding effective and innovative solutions that balance between satisfying the customer, maintaining healthy, productive working relationships, and adhering to accepted business practices.
Strategic Communication
Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills as evidenced by internal and/or external interactions, seminars, briefings and presentations. Demonstrated effective communication with both external organizations and internal staff and management that fosters healthy, productive working relationships and accommodates multiple and/or complex points of view.
Collaboration
Demonstrated experience collaborating with others that includes communicating clearly,
actively listening to others, taking responsibility for mistakes, and respecting the diversity of staff with internal and external organizations and agencies. Experience interacting with senior managers and executives. Demonstrated success exercising initiative and working to resolve complex issues in a manner that fosters institutional values, staff productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Customer Service
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide clear, concise support and
guidance to others in sometimes stressful situations. Ability to interact professionally with all types of personnel, including external interfaces and executive management.
Clearance
Ability to obtain a Q clearance which typically required U.S. citizenship.
Work Style and Tools
Ability to multi-task and prioritize when needed. Demonstrated willingness to accept flexibility in work assignments and a record of dependability and reliability as proven quality work delivered on time and within budget. Excellent hands-on knowledge and experience with standard business applications, including MS Excel, MS Word, Powerpoint, Outlook Mail and Calendar.
Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 5 years' related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
directly related to the occupation. A Project Management Institute certification is preferred for this level.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master level work in Project Management, business management or related field or Project Management.
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certification.
- Experience with Jira and database tools.
- Experience with AV equipment and online meeting tools.

Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility Requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular Position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
