Come support a mission-critical training organization at Los Alamos National Laboratory responsible for delivering regulatory safety training that enables safe, compliant, and effective Laboratory operations. As Training Coordinator 2, you will play an important role in supporting a large and complex laboratory population.
The Training Coordinator provides training coordination and administrative support to the ESHQ Program Office Training Delivery Team. Responsibilities include scheduling courses and classrooms, managing registrations, maintaining training records, supporting high-volume training inboxes, and providing customer service via phone and email. The role requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately manage training data within the UTrain Learning Management System (LMS).
Job Duties
- Assures safety and security compliance and integrates safety and security into all work activities.
- Provides training registration services.
- Serves as a proctor for tests and quizzes.
- Prepares and assembles training materials as needed.
- Compiles and maintains training records.
- Manages classrooms and the training facility.
- Utilizes LMS and records management systems to track and report training.
- Assigns and manages training plans.
- Adheres to institutional training policies and applicable programs.
- Communicates professionally with customers and stakeholders, including large audiences.
- Supports training management and course managers with a variety of coordination and administrative actions.
- Fosters a respectful and inclusive work environment.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Working knowledge of Laboratory policies and procedures pertaining to training. Awareness of DOE orders and standards pertaining to training.
- Working knowledge of the Laboratory's training data management systems and related information data systems.
- Working knowledge of common computer-based applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Working knowledge of common audio-visual and office equipment.
- Working knowledge of communication and presentation techniques in both written and spoken communications in the English language.
Education/Experience: Position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years related experience.

- Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume environments where accuracy and deadlines matter.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing requirements, and complete work independently.
- Strong customer service skills with experience communicating professionally to large or complex audiences.

- Experience identifying process gaps and contributing practical improvements to workflows or coordination practices.
Work Environment:
Work Schedule: 9/80 Schedule with every other Friday off
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in White Rock, NM at the training center. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
