This position will be filled at the Computing Systems Professional 2 level. Innovative Customer Experience division is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Computing Systems Professional 2 for the ICE Field Services (ICE-FS) group. ICE-FS consists of approximately 90 professionals, technicians, and students. ICE division is responsible for the desktop support for computing environments at the Laboratory. The division is organized around field support groups that are focused on supporting unclassified and classified programmatic and mission support needs, and a technical services group that provides the enterprise level configuration management services for these computing environments. The successful candidate will be providing dedicated desktop support services to an assigned customer base in various locations across the laboratory. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day technical support services for ICE-FS customers in a heterogeneous computing environment.
The successful candidate will work on a team supporting institutional and programmatic customers at locations across the laboratory, performing a wide variety of system administration activities for classified servers and workstations, including but not limited to:
- Support of Microsoft Windows servers, virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI), point to point and diskless architectures such as VMWare Horizon based clients in classified environments
- Develop plans for installing, configuring, hardening, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows workstations, servers, virtual machine and boot images
- Planning, designing, documenting and implementing solutions to support customer workstation requirements
- Automating tasks using programming and scripting
- Communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
- Mentoring and training fellow team members in basic and advanced system administration
- Practicing Information Architecture processes and standards
- Proactively resolve vulnerabilities for Windows operating systems.
- Mentor and train fellow team members in Windows system administration
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Wide-ranging experience administering Windows operating systems and/or Virtual environments and related hardware.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex operating system, hardware and application issues in a heterogeneous computing environment.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Active Directory infrastructure management and system configuration management methodologies and tools including scripting tools such as Windows PowerShell.
- Experience with vulnerability remediation including utilization of cyber-related tools for auditing, compliance verification, vulnerability testing, system patching and continuous monitoring.
Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of four years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- SCCM administration experience
- Active DOE L or Q clearance, or equivalent, transferable clearance.
- Experience securing Operating Systems using NIST and STIG cyber security frameworks.
- Knowledge of emerging computing technologies.
- Experience mentoring IT team members in Windows system administration.
- Applicable advanced vendor certification (Microsoft, VMware, NetApp, CompTIA A+, CCNA)
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
