The Detonator Science and Technology Group, Q-6, is searching for an experienced Production Control Specialist with a background in production and/or inventory control, and applications of production/inventory control and planning methods. Providing customer service to internal and external customers, you will assist in the development of documentation and implementation of operational procedures, and reports. Must have a willingness to learn about industry, regulatory, or Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) complex codes, standards, and criteria, and have a general understanding of supply chain management and resource management practices. You will utilize production, inventory control, and procurement technology tools, programs, and processes.
Q-6 is offering an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Detonation Science and Technology Group. The Group is seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual who can bring skills in Production Control, emphasis with classified inventory management for the group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the classified inventory within the group, both physical hardware and documentation.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Organization: Ability to manage and maintain an accurate inventory system with timely record keeping, demonstrated effective organizational & communication skills related to work planning, and ability to establish and manage the group's inventory systems, e.g. component and material inventory system.
Knowledge: Knowledge of institutional and organizational policies, practices, and procedures related to Classified Matter Protection and Control, classified documentation management, and coordinating/managing VTC.
Communication: Good customer service skills for interactions within internal and external staff.
Education/Experience for Production Control Specalist 2: Position requires 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience using database tracking systems for data collection, customer queries and reporting requirements.
- Experience developing project plans and providing leadership to project teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge in business operations across a large business environment.
- Ability to recommend solutions on problems affecting design and production.
- Ability for development and implementation policy and procedure.
- Demonstrated experience in secure work environment or working with sensitive or classified information.
- Classified Matter Protection and Control experience preferred.
- Experience working in or around hazardous materials.
- VTR user and experience preferred.
- Ability to lift certain items that can weigh up to 25 lbs. up to 4 feet off the ground.
- HE handler and Classified Material Handler training
- Active Q Clearance
Work Environment:
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 2 years.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
