The selected candidate for this position will work part-time in the Thermonuclear Plasma Physics Group (P-4). As a member of the Administrative Operations Team, the selected individual will support day-to-day administrative activities under the supervision of the group's Professional Staff Assistant with additional tasking and oversight from the Group Management team.
Job responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Execute complex administrative and office-related functions and activities requiring sound judgement and independent action.
- Utilize a high degree of initiative.
- Generate a variety of internal and external professional correspondence.
- Coordinate multiple calendars and complex schedules.
- Coordinate meeting/conference scheduling and announcement logistics.
- Compile, organize, and develop briefing and meeting documentation.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Administrative Support: Knowledge of and experience in providing administrative services and activities, including general office management. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex calendars and coordinate meetings.
Organization and Time Management: Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining quality in daily operational work. Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple projects with strict deadlines and changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and calmly in an environment with frequent interruptions and multiple customers.
Business Systems: Computer skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), SharePoint, Teams, and WebEx.
Communication: Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) while interacting effectively with all levels of employees and managers. Excellent record of dependability, availability, attendance, and punctuality.
Education/Experience: Position requires a High School Diploma and 2 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program: Business Admin related discipline. Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources.
Must be enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours (or full-time equivalent): Entering college freshmen must provide documentation indicating matriculation into an undergraduate degree program.
Must currently have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law.
