What You Will Do
Come join some of the brightest minds at the cutting edge LANSCE Particle Accelerator Facility. The AOT-IC Software team is seeking an undergraduate student looking for a challenging internship. This will be a full-time internship with on-site and hybrid work options.
We are seeking a proactive and technically strong programmer with a focus on control system software development and maintenance. A strong emphasis will be placed on updating legacy code, DevOps, network systems, and system maintenance. As an undergraduate intern, we will provide you with a mentor, a challenging project, and an opportunity to present your work and progress to colleagues.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Where You Will Work
Located in Northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. LANL enhances national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile, developing technologies to reduce threats from weapons of mass destruction, and solving problems related to energy, environment, infrastructure, health, and global security concerns. Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Minimum Job Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in any Physical Science or Engineering related discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Math, Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering).
- Must be enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours (or full-time equivalent). Entering college freshmen must provide documentation indicating matriculation into an undergraduate degree program.
- Must currently have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
- Ability to self-teach and work independently and learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Computer programming (Python, C++, etc.) in support of scientific or engineering applications.
