ASD Scorpius is seeking a highly motivated customer-focused professional to serve as the Inventory and Logistics Manager (Manufacturing Support Manager 1) as part of the. The selected candidate will assist the Deputy Group Leader in overseeing a team to implement the inventory management system, ensure items are received, documented, inspected, and stored in a compliant and easy-to-retrieve manner, prepare part kits to support assembly operations, ensure item traceability, prepare and coordinate shipment of large and complex components, and conduct routine and comprehensive audits. The candidate will ensure compliance with all applicable Inventory and storage procedures and provide oversight to ensure the accuracy of inventory records. The candidate will provide regular updates and generate reports for group customers as well as ensure smooth communication with engineers and technicians engaged in fabrication and operational activities.
This position will build a cohesive and high-performing team, direct daily work activity to meet project deliverables, and maintain a superlative safety and security record.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Leadership
Prior experience in leading inventory or warehouse activities. Ability to successfully plan, organize, lead, and monitor team efforts. The ability to work effectively with others, including engineers, technicians, and scientists, to coordinate inventory and logistics actions. Proven ability to foster teamwork and a customer-focused culture. Proven ability to provide continuous feedback to further develop staff and ensure proper team and individual recognition and appreciation. Demonstrated ability proactively assisting others in achieving the organization's objectives
Technical Competence
Knowledge of inventory or warehouse management practices and procedures. Demonstrated experience in logistics, including arranging shipment of large components. Demonstrated ability to comply with rules and requirements for documentation, inventory management, and safety and security.
Computing/Business Systems
Above average computer skills. Demonstrated experience with inventory control and material tracking systems. Proficient in various software suites, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Facility Operations
Demonstrated experience implementing Conduct of Operations, such as Safe Conduct of Research (SCoR) principles or an equivalent safety program. Demonstrated experience developing technical work procedures, providing on-the job training, applying standard safety practices, and understanding regulations related to operations, including the use of forklifts and cranes.
Customer Service
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide clear, concise support and guidance to others in sometimes stressful situations. Experience interacting professionally with all types of personnel: craft, supervisors, engineering and facility managers.
Education/Experience
Position requires a bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with business operations to include human resources, warehouse practices, and other related activities and experience providing customer service.
- Experience controlling material in a highly regulated environment.
- Experience in conflict resolution and in dealing with performance issues.
- Experience in executing work and projects using formality of operations principles (e.g. Conduct of Operations).
- Ability to obtain forklift license
Work Environment:
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
