The Construction Project Execution Integration Manager provides senior leadership and integration oversight for the execution of complex construction and capital projects at Los Alamos National Laboratory. This role ensures that construction project execution activities are consistently planned, integrated, and performed across multiple projects, organizations, and stakeholders.
The Manager leads and coordinates project and group managers, drives consistent execution practices, and ensures alignment across construction, engineering, procurement, safety, quality, and project controls functions. This position plays a key role in ensuring projects are executed safely, compliantly, on schedule, and within budget while supporting Laboratory mission objectives.
Job Duties
- Lead and integrate construction project execution activities across multiple projects to ensure consistency of approach, coordination, and performance.
- Direct project and group managers in the execution of construction and infrastructure projects, providing operational oversight and technical guidance.
- Establish, implement, and enforce project execution policies, procedures, and management philosophies to support successful project delivery.
- Ensure effective integration among construction, engineering, procurement, safety, quality, and project controls organizations.
- Monitor performance of active construction projects, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken to address cost, schedule, scope, quality, or safety issues.
- Review and approve construction project execution plans, cost estimates, schedules, forecasts, and significant changes or deviations.
- Provide counsel and guidance on DOE contract compliance, government regulations, and Laboratory policies related to construction project execution.
- Support resolution of interdepartmental and cross-organizational issues impacting project delivery.
- Support business development and strategic planning activities by representing construction execution capabilities and lessons learned.
- Foster continuous improvement in construction execution processes and project management practices.
- Manage organizational resources, budgets, staffing, and performance in alignment with Laboratory priorities.
- Promote an inclusive, respectful, and high-performance work environment.
- This person is not a PM so they don't need the technical knowledge but do need integrating and interfacing with client skills.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of construction project execution, including integration of construction, engineering, procurement, safety, quality, and project controls.
- Demonstrated experience leading and integrating multiple construction or capital projects in complex organizational environments.
- Proven ability to manage and oversee cost, schedule, scope, risk, and performance across diverse project portfolios.
- Experience interpreting and applying DOE contract requirements, government regulations, and Laboratory policies.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and organizational management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex, cross-functional issues and drive integrated solutions.
- Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
- Professional certifications such asPMP, PMI-SP, PMI-RMP, PE, CCM, or Six Sigma/Lean or related discipline
- Experience managing large, complex, or high-hazard construction projects, preferably in a regulated or federal environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading project completion, startup, and commissioning activities for large, complex construction or capital infrastructure projects.
- PfPM/Portfolio Management Professional
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Term position: Regular-status Laboratory employees applying for term-status positions may retain regular status with approval of the cognizant Principle Associate Director.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
