Leverage your organizational, customer service, and coordination skills to support onboarding and training for one of the world's most innovative and creative multidisciplinary research institutions engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. As part of New Employee Training and Workforce Development Group (WMS-1), you will play a key role in delivering high-quality onboarding and training experience for new hires within the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Weapons Production (ALDWP).

In this role, you will serve as a New Employee Training (NET) Navigator, guiding cohorts of new employees through onboarding, orientation, and required training. You will work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment where attention to detail, responsiveness, and professionalism are essential.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide end-to-end onboarding navigation for assigned cohorts, including program orientation, schedule guidance, and timely resolution of new hire questions.
  • Coordinate and support the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of onboarding program components.
  • Support additional NET training track programs by coordinating training components and ensuring program requirements and operational needs are met.
  • Ensure deliverables, milestones, and program commitments are met with a high level of accuracy, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and coordinate complex scheduling across multiple stakeholders, calendars, and training resources.
  • Learning Management System administration, including course registration, course management, credit issuance, and reporting.
  • Analyze data from multiple systems to support decision-making, reporting, and customer support efforts.
  • Identify and recommend practical improvements to enhance user experience and program effectiveness.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between new hires, training organizations, and program stakeholders.

What You Need

  • Education and Experience: Position requires an Associate's Degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
  • Operational Functions:
    • Working knowledge of business operations in a structured environment, including familiarity with one or more of the following: formality of operations, compliance practices, configuration management, training and qualification, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Computer Skills/Business Systems:
    • Proficiency with standard business software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe).
    • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to use LANL business systems (e.g., Oracle, UTrain, etc.).
    • Strong ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and complex calendars.
  • Critical Thinking:
    • Ability to research issues, evaluate alternatives, and recommend practical solutions to support operational effectiveness and quality assurance.
  • Communication:
    • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Customer Service:
    • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service, including the ability to provide clear guidance, manage expectations, and maintain professionalism in high-demand or time-sensitive situations.
  • Special Skills/Knowledge:
    • Experience working with educational programs, training organizations, or academic institutions.
    • Knowledge of documentation and records management practices, including quality assurance and document control.
    • Familiarity with regulatory or compliance-driven environments.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to new systems, and take initiative.
    • Positive, proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work onsite full-time in a collaborative team environment.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with onboarding processes and institutional training services.


Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Work Schedule: This position may/will require 24/7 coverage, which could/will involve working a shift/weekend schedule. Employees may be eligible for the shift differential pay when assigned by their manager. Shift/weekend assignments are at the discretion of the manager.

Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2: Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
