The Operations Programs Training Group (RT-TR) seeks 2 highly skilled Learning Specialists to directly support the delivery of training programs in support of Nuclear and High-hazard Readiness Operations. In this role, you will be deployed to work in one of the following key areas: the Conduct of Engineering Office or supporting Conduct of Operations within the Nuclear Training Center.

Learning Specialist 4 - $114,700 - $191,200

Minimum Job Requirements:
Knowledge and Expertise
Familiarity with integrated safety, formality of operations, facility availability, compliance, performance, maintenance, engineering, safety basis, readiness, configuration management, work control, quality assurance, feedback and improvement. Advanced experience working with high-hazard operations in a nuclear facility setting. Experience with training and/or mentoring others in various technical operations.
Performance
Experience with conducting classroom training and/or On-the-Job Training. Seasoned professional in handling multiple competing priorities in a complex, fast-paced operational environment.
Accountability
Advanced knowledge in working with confidential or proprietary information, classified documents or sensitive information, including PII training records. Strong understanding of safety and security requirements to individual responsibility and as applicable to training activities.
Communication and Customer Service
Advanced skill with interpersonal, written and verbal communications. Proven experience in transferring knowledge effectively to both technical and non-technical personnel. Proven skillset in using excellent communication to provide top-notch customer service.
Education/Experience: The Learning Specialist 3 requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
The Learning Specialist 4 requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 10 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Essential Job Functions (can perform with or without reasonable accommodation): Color discrimination, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to hear in a normal range (500 to 3000 htz), standing, walking, typing or keyboarding.
Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Work Environment: This position will work in both an administrative office environment, as well as a hands-on training environment with the ability to telework depending on the assigned customer's preference. Unescorted access to ALDWP nuclear facilities is required in order to actively participate in training activities, if/when needed.
Work Schedule: This work schedule may be 9/80, 5/8, or 4/10 at manager's discretion.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

- Working with customers, stakeholders and regulators to assure training programs meet customer needs, regulatory drivers and contractual requirements.
- Assisting with developing, implementing, and maintaining training documents and records, both physical and electronic.
- Research complex training and education issues and recommend sound, practical solutions.
- Assisting with developing, implementing, and maintaining compliant and high-quality course materials such as live classroom, on-the-job and/or web-based training for diverse audiences.
- Developing and/or conducting classroom training and OJT as assigned.
- Using UTrain (Oracle/Service Now) occasionally design, build and implement training programs, as well as track completion of training assignments; using UTrain data to provide customized reporting that adds value to the business needs of the organization served.
Learning Specialist 4 - $114,700 - $191,200
Additional duties:
- Participating in assessments, incident investigations, root cause analyses, data analysis, project management, or critiques, as assigned.
- Performing various administrative functions in conjunction with or in support of operational program compliance, including planning, prioritizing, and scheduling of training activities.
- Participating in knowledge preservation, capture, and transfer projects in support of learning deliverables as desired by the customer.
