What You Will Do

The Science Resource Office (SRO) is looking for an energetic and customer-focused professional to help with the coordination of the Collaboration Space; and various other functions that SRO performs. Located on the main floor of the J. Robert Oppenheimer Center, the Collaboration Space is designed for collaborative initiatives that reach across disciplines, organizations, and functions to develop innovative solutions that enable Laboratory missions. The space has a diverse range of technology including web conferencing, drop in workstations and onsite computer accessibility. The position requires flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to multitask and complete tasks under pressure. This job will go beyond supporting the Collaboration Space and into supporting other organization initiatives, such as assisting with database management, helping put on classes and events, website management and other project support.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience providing professional expertise for a busy environment, dealing with multiple customers and tasks. Ability to multitask and prioritize when needed.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written, demonstrating the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Excellent hands-on knowledge and experience with standard business applications, including MS Excel, MS Word, Powerpoint, Outlook Mail and Calendar, Access or a similar database.
  • Demonstrated experience with planning and providing logistical and technical support for meetings and events. Knowledge of web conferencing (Webex, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc).
  • Demonstrated willingness to accept flexibility in work assignments and a record of dependability and reliability as proven through good attendance and quality work.
  • Demonstrated experience searching databases for metrics or source information and knowledge of basic analysis tools that can be used to supply information.
  • Demonstrated experience extracting data and formatting it as requested.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn new procedures and look for opportunities for process improvement.
  • Proven ability to produce quality work by applying attention to detail, managing time and seeing tasks to completion.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience following established procedures and practices.

Education/Experience:

Post-Associate's/Post-Bachelor's
  • Must have earned an Associate's or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (or international equivalent) within the last 3 years in an appropriate field,
  • Must have graduated with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).

Desired Qualifications:

Technical Skills
  • Advanced data management expertise, including cleanup, transformation, and ingestion of complex datasets.
  • Proficient in collaborative platforms including Google Workspace and Microsoft Teams for seamless cross-functional coordination
  • database management experience with demonstrated ability to design queries, maintain data integrity, and optimize information retrieval
  • Strong analytical capabilities in data processing and visualization, translating raw information into actionable insights
  • Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook for managing multiple executive calendars, scheduling complex meetings, and coordinating resources

Operational Expertise
  • Demonstrated technical troubleshooting abilities, efficiently resolving hardware and software issues to maintain operational continuity
  • Comprehensive experience in participant registration management for professional development programs and corporate events
  • Proven track record in event management, including conceptualization, planning, logistics coordination, and successful execution of learning events and professional workshops

Work Environment:

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law.
