The Laboratory Directed Research and Development (LDRD) Office is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting a $240M R&D program that positions the Laboratory for its future missions. The Program-Project Specialist 1 will support LDRD programmatic operations, from data quality control to review process support to data analysis.

Project/Program Specialist 1 ($72,800 - $115,400)
The selected candidate will assist in the development of call document tracking and updates, day to day planning support, proposal call communications support, and tracking of platform bug/feature ticket creation across a range of projects within the LDRD portfolio. Under direction, you will monitor performance metrics and provide updates to LDRD leadership while working across divisions in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.

Project Management Support:
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively across various stages of a project's lifecycle- from initial planning through execution, tracking, and closeout)- both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines are essential for supporting ongoing project planning and execution.
- Demonstrated success working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Exhibit effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information through emails, visual summaries (tables/figures), and meetings.
- Experience developing and nurturing effective mid-level internal and external customer relationships.
- Contribute to a positive, solutions-oriented team culture and engage constructively in team planning discussions.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is expected.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems.
Clearance:
- Ability to obtain a Q clearance, which typically requires U.S. citizenship.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficient in entering, extracting, and managing data within complex databases and operational platforms.
- Active Q clearance.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance, and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility Requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular Position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
