Come join our team! This entry-level position is part of the Institutional Quality (IQPA-IQ) group and reports to the Receipt Inspection and Verifications Manager. The successful candidate will support the Receipt Inspection Team by organizing and preparing the inspection queue, printing documentation for inspectors, communicating order status updates to customers, tracking Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)s, and processing salvage requests as needed. The role will also work closely with Document Control and Records to ensure all inspection records are accurately entered into EDRMS.
Additional responsibilities include entering data for annual rigging inspections into the HLR database, ordering materials for the team, tracking key metrics such as weekly expedites and monthly ALDPI orders, and coordinating with (Receiving) COR and Accounts Payable to resolve outstanding orders.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and accurate customer correspondence via email.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Outlook, Oracle, Concur, MS Teams, or comparable systems and software.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with customers, staff, and management at all levels through both written and verbal channels.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities throughout the workday.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination with suppliers, internal teams (logistics, procurement, quality control), and for reporting issues as needed.
- Excellent organizational abilities, including tracking shipments, logging receipts, maintaining documentation, coordinating with vendors/suppliers, and ensuring accurate record keeping.
Desired Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of quality concepts and principles, including inspection principles and practices.
- Basic understanding of quality concepts and principles
- Administrative support experience working with a team.
Work Environment: Working in a noisy environment; and experience varying temperatures.
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
