What You Will Do
We are looking for a social media specialist to join our social media team to support the maintenance and growth of our social media channels and communities. As a member of our dynamic team, you will assist with content planning as an output of the overall strategy, help drive the creative development of social content and publish content to all channels. This position will be responsible for executing the social media monthly calendar, which includes scheduling content, publishing content and monitoring the conversations on the Lab's social media channels.
In a nutshell, you will craft social media posts that drive LANL's communications objectives and measure the effectiveness of our social media strategy. You will utilize social listening tools to identify trends, conversations and more, using that data to inform business decisions. You will be responsible for monitoring engagement and performance to drive optimizations and future strategies.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Experience: A bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or a physical, life, or social science and a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Santa Fe, NM and Los Alamos, NM. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Clearance:Q (Position will be cleared to this level). This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

- Experience managing an organization or company's social media presence
- Knowledge of social media scheduling tools such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social

- Experience identifying emerging issues and trends by analyzing social conversations and data through social listening to inform innovation and content development
- Ability to maintain a consistent brand voice across all channels
