Waste Management Coordinator 1 ($71,200 - $112,900)

In addition to overseeing the proper storage, handling, characterization, packaging, and transportation of hazardous, radioactive, and mixed waste, you will assist efforts to improve waste management processes, develop best practices, and provide technical guidance to teams across the organization.
Additionally, this role may involve supporting projects related to waste minimization, sustainability initiatives, and process improvements to align with the laboratory's mission of scientific excellence and environmental responsibility. Strong leadership skills will be essential, as this individual will mentor staff, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive innovation in waste management strategies.

- Experience and knowledge of LANL's waste management policies, practices, and procedures\
- Current or previous qualification as a waste professional in a Department of Energy facility
- Chemical lab packing experience
- This position has a potential to be shift work with one of the following schedules:
- B Shift: Night 4 x 10 hours Tues - Fri. 5:00pm - 3:30am
- C Shift: Day 4 x 10 hours Fri. - Mon. 6:00am - 4:30pm
- D Shift: Night 4 x 10 hours Fri. - Mon. 5:00pm - 3:30am
